Welcome to the Soul’s Way podcast! This is your host Emily Anne Brant. I am a proud First Nations (Mohawk) author, speaker and mentor here to meet you at the intersection of personal development and decolonization. I truly believe that when we see ourselves and one another mind, body, emotion AND most of all soul or spirit… we can break through systematic, ancestral and generational ways of being that we came here to disrupt and rise above, and lean into the ways that heal our spirits. I know that we can do this through honest conversations, radical responsibility, and healing together in community. Through my stories and the incredible conversations with some truly amazing guests - my hope is that you leave each episode with a more open heart and that you feel emboldened in your medicine and your voice- knowing your ripple effect matters. OUR ripple effect matters. Work with me: www.emilyannebrant.com. Podcast inquiries and collaborations: thesoulswaypodcast@gmail.com Loving the podcast? Manipulative Sales Tactics to Avoid w/ Melinda Jackson
15 minutes ago
Melinda Jackson is back by popular demand! In this episode, they are spilling the tea on a recent cringe-worthy dinner they paid to be at that turned into a high pressure coaching sales presentation. From this dinner, Melinda is highlighting some of the most classic manipulative and unethical tactics that plague not only events like this but our very own coaching industry! Basically, this is another "what NOT to do" episode.

My First 6-Figure Year: BTS
Join me as I pull back the curtain of my first 6-figure sales year as a coaching and speaking business. This is a no nonsense, no fluff, very transparent and vulnerable look at:
- The numbers- how much I actually received in cash (not sales), what my expenses looked like and how much net profit was actually left
- Taxes, exchange rates and other barriers Canadian businesses face when operating internationally
- The first high ticket mentorship I've NOT regretted
- What worked well?
- What didn't work?
- How I can streamline for next year
- How I can increase profit margins
This is a tender share but I hope it will help you feel more encouraged and tuned into what *actually* goes into generating a profitable coaching business.

Hello From My Rest & Reciprocity Era
Sunday Jan 19, 2025
Sunday Jan 19, 2025
Hello From My Rest & Reciprocity Era! I am back from an unintentional 2 month podcast hiatus and feeling clarity, creativity and reciprocity. If you need permission to continue embracing winter and going into hermit mode - this is for you. Though you're more than likely to roll your eyes at my version of hermit mode: taking a 200 hour yoga teacher training, writing a book and working a full time job! But for me and my #ADHD stimulation needing brain, this is me "coasting". The yoga is truly just for me right now and is honestly changing my life. I'll share more soon, but for now I am happily in full student mode.

Sunday Nov 17, 2024
Sunday Nov 17, 2024
What do coaches have to do with politics? Are leaders and healers obligated to show up the way their community is asking them? As a spiritual leader, what's my role in decolonization and liberation? What if I say the wrong thing and offend someone? Melinda Jackson is back for part two of our unfiltered coaching industry rants and chats as we dive into all this and more! We're sharing:
- Our post U.S. election thoughts
- How politics impacts coaching and healing
- What being a leader means from an Indigenous lens
- Are leaders obligated to comment on politics?
- The spiritual growth of decolonization
- What happens when you get it wrong or cause harm
- How real healing and repair can happen (with a real time example)
And so much more, including our own stories and experiences.

Coaching Industry Rants & Chats with Melinda Jackson
Wednesday Nov 06, 2024
Wednesday Nov 06, 2024
Ya know that feeling when you meet a #BizBestie and you just GET each other? That's me and my "cuz" Melinda Jackson. We both have plenty of experience in the coaching industry, both as clients and as imperfect leaders. Myself as an Indigenous, disabled, neuro-spicy woman. Melinda as a Black, nonbinary, Queer, neuro-spicy person. We have thoughts on some of the practices in the industry, such as...
- The "invisible offer" trend that we find alarming
- The hyper binary "feminine energy" spaces
- The word salad and fluff I've paid thousands for
- "Celebrity" coaches and culty vibes
- How do these millionaires sleep at night...or do they?
- The crumbling of colonial, toxic coaching
And so much more, including our own "cringey eras" and how we've evolved from them and continue to be ever-evolving and learning. The audio is wonky, the conversation is unplanned and a bit all over the place, and this is totally unfiltered - but we hope you enjoy it. Let us know!

Thursday Oct 24, 2024
Dear beautiful caring, compassionate, empathic human. I know you're tired. I know the state of the world is often frightening, and even enraging at times. I know it's overwhelming when you're a change maker and feel like the entire world needs your help but you're just one person! If that's you - consider this your soothing balm "pep talk" (this is as peppy as I get lol).
I'm here to remind you and shout from the rooftops that your ripple effect matters. Tend to what's right in front of you, take breaks, then keep going. You are making such a huge impact and the world is better because of you.

What Cancelling A Program Taught Me
Friday Oct 11, 2024
Friday Oct 11, 2024
Inhale: I'm worthy of ease. Exhale: I choose simplicity. Consider this your official permission slip to choose easy and protect your energy like it's your most precious resource - because it kinda is. These are my lessons from cancelling a program and all of the spaciousness and insight that has come with it.

Integrity in Entrepreneurship with Tristan Katz
Monday Aug 26, 2024
Monday Aug 26, 2024
How do you weave your values into your business? How do you market effectively within your own area of focus while still examining and acknowledging power and privilege, which are always at play? How do you stand out in 2024 and beyond, with the ever-changing landscape of online business and the state of the world? These are all questions I had for Tristan Katz and I know you will so appreciate this conversation.
Tristan Katz (they/he) is a writer, educator, business consultant, and equity-inclusion facilitator specializing in culturally competent marketing strategies and LGBTQ+ Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging (DEIB) training and consulting. As a longtime student of social movements and social justice, Tristan’s work centers on values-focused content development, the exploration of power, privilege, and oppression, and the intersection between solidarity and marketing.
