Last year I joined a business mastermind and met some amazing people. One of them was Rave Reid, who is half Filipina and half white, and resonated with a lot of what I started sharing about 1) being mixed ancestry and 2) navigating the predominantly white coaching industry.
Our experience even with money and money mindset can be a whole other ball game from what is often talked about in the mainstream coaching community. We decided to hop on a call and record a conversation for you that you'll get so much out of, ESPECIALLY IF you are white, as I shared many ways that you can make your spaces safer and more supportive for us all. Rave asked me a lot of really great questions, and was willing to get a bit uncomfortable at times to do so. This is what true leadership looks like!

One of my all time favourite conversations, I had to share this replay with you! My friend Ashley-Ann who I met at a women's networking brunch here in Toronto asked me to come on her new talk show Beyond The Surface Talks. Ashley-Ann is a white woman who courageously and gratefully agreed to have me on to talk about decolonizing the coaching industry and how WE (including myself because I'm half white and white passing) need to do better. I shared my story and how I struggled to feel seen, held and supported once I began to embrace my Indigenous roots and all the beauty but also the pain that comes along with that. I am sharing with you all what led me into this work and how YOU can do your part in decolonizing (actively dismantling white supremacy) your own business.
